Filled with Hope (Romans 15:13)

Filled with Hope (Romans 15:13)

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him…” — Romans 15:13 (NIV)

Some weekends feel different.

The sun is shining.
Families gather.
Flags wave gently in the warm breeze.

But Memorial Weekend carries something deeper.

It’s a time to remember.

A child stands quietly in a park, looking at a small flag placed among flowers.
There’s a question in their eyes:

“Why do we remember today?”

And it’s a beautiful question.

Because remembering isn’t just about the past—
it’s about understanding love, sacrifice, and gratitude.

A parent kneels beside them and gently explains:

“We remember those who gave so much…
and we thank God for the hope and peace we have.”

Hope.

That’s the word that changes everything.

Because even in moments that feel quiet or heavy,
God doesn’t leave our hearts empty.

He fills them.

With joy.
With peace.
With hope.

That’s what Romans 15:13 reminds us.

Not just to think about hope—
but to be filled with it.

The child looks again at the flag, then back at the sky.
Something feels lighter now.

And soon, laughter returns.

Running. Playing. Smiling.
Life continues—full of light.

Not because we forget…
but because we carry hope forward.
