Some fruits grow on trees apples, oranges, strawberries, all the sweet things kids love.
But today’s Bible verse tells us about a different kind of fruit…
the kind that grows inside us.
Galatians 5:22 says:
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.”
It sounds beautiful.....
But what does it actually mean?

🍎 “Do trees grow the fruit of the Spirit?”
Leo certainly thought so.
One sunny afternoon, he stood in front of a big fruit tree at school, staring up at the branches with squinty, suspicious eyes.
“Wait… what is the fruit of the Spirit?” he wondered out loud.
“Do trees grow it?”
His face was so puzzled that his teacher couldn’t help smiling.
🍑 “The fruit grows in your heart.”
She knelt beside Leo, gently pointing to her chest.
“Not those fruits, Leo,” she said warmly.
“The fruit of the Spirit grows right here — in our hearts.”
Leo paused, placing his little hand on his chest, as if checking for tiny apples inside.
“Inside… me?”
“Yes!” she nodded.
“When God’s love fills you, beautiful things grow from it.”
🍉 The Fruit Looks Like… Kindness & Joy
Suddenly, little memory bubbles popped into Leo’s mind:
✨ Sharing his toy with a friend
✨ Helping someone who dropped their books
✨ Giving a big comforting hug
✨ Laughing with joy
✨ Choosing peace when he felt upset
His teacher’s voice echoed softly:
“Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness… Those are fruits too.”
Not fruits you can eat,
but fruits the world needs.
🍇 “I want to grow those fruits!”
Leo’s eyes sparkled.
He looked down at his heart —
and in his imagination, he saw tiny glowing fruits growing there:
Love
Joy
Peace
Patience
Kindness
Goodness
Faithfulness
He stood a little taller, smiled a little brighter,
and said:
“Wow! I want to grow all those fruits in me!”
And honestly?
Don’t we all?
🌟 What Kids Learn Today
The fruit of the Spirit isn’t something you buy at the store.
It’s something that grows every time we choose love over anger,

and patience over frustration.
It’s the kind of fruit that makes hearts sweeter
and homes warmer.
🙏 A Simple Prayer
“Dear God,
help us grow beautiful fruits in our hearts —
