💛 Love Never Fails 💛
“Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.” — 1 Corinthians 13:8 (NIV)
Three little words.
But they may be three of the most important words we can teach a child:
Love never fails.
Love sounds easy when everyone is getting along.
It’s easy to love the friend who shares with you.
It’s easy to be kind when your brother leaves your stuff alone.
It’s easy to speak gently when nobody has hurt your feelings.
But then comes real life.
Someone grabs the marker you were using.
A friend says something that hurts.
Your little brother knocks down the tower you spent twenty minutes building.
And suddenly...
love doesn’t feel quite so easy anymore.
That is exactly when love becomes important.
Love Is More Than a Feeling
Imagine two children building an enormous block castle together.
They've worked and worked.
One more block... and CRASH!
One child accidentally knocks the whole thing over.
The other child jumps up.
“My castle!!”
Their face gets hot.
Their hands tighten.
And inside, a little voice says:
“Yell at them!”
But there is another choice.
A stronger one.
The child pauses.
“I’m really upset... but I know you didn’t mean to do it.”
The friend looks relieved.
“I’m sorry. Can I help rebuild it?”
And there it is.
Love.
Not the fluffy, heart-shaped kind.
The brave kind.
The kind that chooses what to do when feelings are BIG.
💛 Love Can Change What Happens Next
One angry moment can become an argument.
One cruel sentence can become ten cruel sentences.
One hurt feeling can turn two friends against each other.
But love can interrupt the whole thing.
Love can say:
“Wait.”
Love can say:
“Tell me what happened.”
Love can say:
“I'm sorry.”
Love can say:
“Let's try again.”
That's why teaching children about love is so much bigger than teaching them to “be nice.”
We're teaching them how to protect friendships.
How to repair relationships.
How to forgive.
How to disagree without becoming cruel.
And how to remember that another person's heart matters even when they're angry.
🌱 Love Doesn't Mean Accepting Everything
This part matters too.
Choosing love doesn't mean pretending something didn't hurt.
It doesn't mean allowing someone to treat you badly.
And it doesn't mean never saying “no.”
Love can be truthful.
“That hurt my feelings.”
Love can have boundaries.
“Please don't do that again.”
Love can ask an adult for help.
And love can forgive without pretending that wrong choices were right.
Love isn't weakness.
Sometimes love requires tremendous courage.
❤️ What If Children Learned This Early?
Imagine a child growing up with one question tucked inside their heart:
“What would love choose?”
A classmate drops their books.
- What would love choose?
Someone new sits alone at lunch.
- What would love choose?
A sibling breaks something.
- What would love choose?
They realize they were the one who caused the hurt.
- What would love choose?
Sometimes the answer will be kindness.
Sometimes patience.
Sometimes forgiveness.
Sometimes an apology.
Sometimes courage.
But each time a child practices love, something beautiful happens.
Love slowly becomes more than something they know.
It becomes part of who they are.
🏡 And This Lesson Starts With Us
Our children are watching how we love, too.
How we speak when we're frustrated.
How we apologize after we lose our patience.
How we treat people who cannot do anything for us.
How we handle disagreement.
And perhaps one of the greatest lessons we can give a child is allowing them to see:
Love doesn't require perfect people.
Families make mistakes.
Friends disappoint each other.
Parents have bad days.
Children make poor choices.
But we can return.
We can repair.
We can forgive.
We can choose love again.
Because a difficult moment doesn't have to become the end of the story.
✨ Today’s Little Challenge
Give your child one mission today:
Find one place where love is needed and put some there.
Maybe someone needs encouragement.
Maybe a sibling needs patience.
Maybe a friend needs forgiveness.
Maybe Mom needs a surprise hug. 😄
It doesn't have to be enormous.
Because some of the greatest expressions of love are almost invisible.
A chair pulled out.
A toy shared.
A sincere apology.
A hand reaching down to help someone up.
A simple:
“Are you okay?”
These tiny choices teach a giant truth.
🌟 Today’s Memory Message
When I don't know what to choose, I can choose love.
Because trophies gather dust.
Arguments eventually end.
Things break.
People change.
But the love we give can remain in someone's heart for a very long time.
So teach them while they're little:
Choose kindness.
Choose patience.
Choose forgiveness.
Choose courage.
Choose love.
Because—
❤️ LOVE NEVER FAILS.
🙏 A Simple Prayer
Dear God,
thank You for showing me what real love looks like.
Help me choose love when it is easy
and when it is hard.
Help my words be kind,
my heart be patient,
and my actions show Your love to others.
Amen.
