Give Thanks (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

Give Thanks (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

Mother’s Day is a beautiful reminder to slow down and notice the people who love and care for us every day.

In 1 Thessalonians 5:18, the Bible says,
“Give thanks in all circumstances...”
This verse teaches children that thankfulness is not just something we feel once in a while. It is something we practice with our words, our hearts, and our actions.

Mother’s Day is a wonderful time for kids to learn this lesson in a simple and meaningful way.

A child may not always notice everything a mom does, packing lunches, giving hugs, helping with schoolwork, praying, cleaning, comforting, and encouraging. But when children are guided to say “thank you,” they begin to see love more clearly.

Gratitude helps children grow in kindness.
It teaches them to notice blessings.
It helps their hearts become softer, happier, and more joyful.

Today is a beautiful day to remind children:

  • Thank God for your mom.
  • Tell her you love her.
  • Show your thankfulness with words and actions.

A handmade card, a flower, a hug, or a simple “thank you” can mean so much.

And as children learn to be thankful, they also learn something even bigger:
Every good gift comes from God.

So this Mother’s Day, let’s celebrate with grateful hearts and joyful words.

Thank You, Mom.
Thank You, God.
